What Is It?
A marital intensive is a structured, two-day consultation — not ongoing therapy. Instead of weekly 50-minute sessions, you and your partner dedicate two half-days to focused work on the patterns shaping your relationship.
This intensive is grounded in Bowen Family Systems Theory (BFST) — looking at how each partner's family history, emotional patterns, and ways of managing anxiety show up in your relationship today. Rather than communication tips, this work focuses on differentiation of self: how each person can show up more clearly, calmly, and authentically — both as an individual and as a partner.

Is This Right for Us?
This intensive is designed for couples who:
-
Are experiencing chronic, recurring relational patterns
-
Feel "stuck" in the same conflict cycle despite effort
-
Are willing to look honestly at their own part in the pattern
-
Want focused work rather than months of weekly sessions
This intensive is a consultative format — not a substitute for ongoing individual therapy. If there is an active safety concern or psychiatric crisis, we will discuss the most appropriate type of support during the screening process.
Disponible en Español
This intensive is offered fully in English or Spanish, with attention to the bicultural experience many couples bring.
