About Me
Welcome. I'm Federico Mendez, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist-Supervisor and doctoral candidate at Texas Woman's University, serving individuals, couples, and families across the state of Texas and New Mexico.
My practice is grounded in Bowen Family Systems Theory (BFST) — a relational approach that helps clients understand the patterns they inherited, take a clearer position in their relationships, and build lasting change from the inside out.
I work in both English and Spanish, and I am proud to offer affirming care to LGBTQAI2S+ clients, people who are neurodivergent (ADHD, Autistic, AuDHD), and the Mexican-American and broader Latino community in North Texas.
I commonly support clients with:
-
Marital and couples conflict, addictions, infidelity, and rebuilding trust
-
Family-of-origin patterns, emotional cutoff, and intergenerational dynamics
-
Anxiety, PTSD, depression, and chronic stress
-
Couples and families navigating chronic illness or neurodivergence
-
LGBTQ+ identity, coming out, and family acceptance
-
Bicultural and immigrant family experiences
I see clients virtually throughout Texas and New Mexico. I accept BCBS, Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, Oscar, Oxford, and Magellan.
